By downloading, installing, or using the Joriva mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Our Goose Community LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company doing business as Joriva ("we," "us," "our," or "Joriva").
Joriva is a personal health management application that helps diabetes patients and their caregivers track, visualize, and manage metabolic health data. The App allows users to:
JORIVA IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE. JORIVA IS NOT A CLINICAL DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM. JORIVA DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT.
Nothing in Joriva — including glucose trend displays, pattern flags, alerts, reports, condition profiles, or any other feature — constitutes medical advice. All information provided by the App is for personal informational and organizational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical judgment, advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Never make medical decisions — including adjusting insulin doses, changing medications, or modifying your treatment plan — based solely on information displayed in Joriva. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any change to your care.
If you experience a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. Do not use Joriva to seek emergency assistance.
Glucose readings retrieved from Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect originate from your CGM device and its companion app. Joriva displays this data as-is and does not validate, calibrate, or modify CGM readings.
CGM readings may differ from finger-prick (capillary blood) glucose measurements. Factors including tissue edema (common during hospitalization or illness), sensor placement, hydration status, and sensor age can affect CGM accuracy. Do not make critical clinical decisions based on CGM readings alone without consultation with your healthcare provider, particularly during periods of acute illness, surgery, or hospitalization.
The insulin logging feature in Joriva is a personal diary tool. It is designed to help you record insulin doses you have already taken, on the recommendation of your healthcare provider, for your own reference and for sharing with your care team.
The insulin logging feature does not provide insulin dose recommendations. It does not calculate correction doses, carbohydrate ratios, or basal rates. Any insulin dose you administer must be determined by you in consultation with your licensed healthcare provider, not by Joriva.
Glucose threshold alerts are delivered via push notifications as a convenience feature, not a clinical alarm system. Alert delivery depends on your device having an active internet connection, enabled push notifications, and sufficient battery charge. Joriva cannot guarantee real-time or uninterrupted alert delivery. Do not rely on Joriva alerts as your sole safety mechanism for hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia management.
PDF reports generated by Joriva are intended to facilitate conversations with your healthcare provider. Reports do not constitute a medical record and have not been reviewed or endorsed by any clinical body.
Joriva produces calculated and estimated values including but not limited to: estimated calories burned during exercise, nutritional totals derived from food database lookups, glucose pattern summaries, and trend analysis. These values are approximations for personal reference only. They are not validated clinical measurements and have not been reviewed by any clinical or regulatory body.
Do not use calculated or estimated values in Joriva as the sole basis for any medical decision without first consulting your healthcare provider.
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Joriva account. The App may be used on behalf of a minor patient by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver who accepts these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at founder@joriva.health if you become aware of any unauthorized access.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and using the App. Inaccurate health data entered into Joriva affects only your own records and reports.
The caregiver view gives a linked caregiver access to the patient's health data as described in our Privacy Policy. By accepting a caregiver link, both the patient and caregiver agree that this data sharing is authorized and intentional.
Caregivers accessing patient data through Joriva may only use the patient's data for caregiving purposes, may not share it with third parties without the patient's consent, and acknowledge they are receiving sensitive health information to be treated with appropriate confidentiality.
The patient may terminate caregiver access at any time from the Settings screen. Upon termination, the caregiver's access is immediately revoked.
Subscription tiers are not yet active. This section will be updated before subscription features launch.
When subscription features are activated: subscriptions will be offered via Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android) in-app purchase, and optionally via the Joriva website. Subscription billing and management are handled by Apple, Google, or our payment processor on our behalf. Their terms and refund policies apply to subscription transactions. We reserve the right to change pricing with advance notice.

The Joriva name, logo, app design, and software are the property of Our Goose Community LLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, trade dress, or other intellectual property except as necessary to use the App as described.
All health data you enter into Joriva belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your personal health information.
We do not warrant that the App will be available at all times, that CGM data retrieved from Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect will be accurate or complete, that glucose alerts will be delivered in real time or at all, or that doctor reports will be accepted by any particular healthcare provider or institution.
Our total liability to you for all claims arising from your use of Joriva will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid for Joriva subscriptions in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Our Goose Community LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
Your use of Joriva is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any feature of the App at any time. We will notify you of material changes to these Terms via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before the effective date. Continued use of the App after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that is harmful to other users or to Joriva. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting founder@joriva.health. Upon termination, your health data will be deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
